Short version: We only collect what we need to run your account. We never sell your data. You can delete everything at any time.
1. Who We Are
Recsal is a business management software for Nigerian small and medium businesses. Our service is operated by Recsal ("we", "us", "our"). For privacy enquiries, contact us at hello@recsal.ng.
2. What Data We Collect
Account Information
- Business name, email address, WhatsApp number, and password (encrypted)
- Business address and logo (optional)
Business Data
- Invoices, sales records, customer information, and expense records you create
- This data belongs entirely to you and is only used to provide the service
Technical Data
- IP address (used only to detect new device logins for your security)
- Login timestamps
Payment Data
- We do not store your card details. Payments are processed by Paystack, who have their own privacy policy at paystack.com/privacy
3. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and operate the Recsal service
- To send you account emails (welcome, login alerts, subscription confirmation)
- To process your subscription payments via Paystack
- To operate the WhatsApp bot and match messages to your account
- To improve the product based on usage patterns (anonymised)
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your data to any third party.
4. Data Storage and Security
- Your data is stored on MongoDB Atlas servers (cloud database)
- Passwords are encrypted using bcrypt — we cannot read them
- All connections use HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Authentication tokens expire after 7 days
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Recsal:
- Paystack — payment processing
- Twilio — WhatsApp bot messaging
- Resend — transactional emails
- Railway — server hosting
- MongoDB Atlas — database storage
Each provider has their own privacy policy and processes only the data necessary to deliver their service.
6. Your Rights (NDPR)
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of your personal data
- Correction — update incorrect data via Settings
- Deletion — delete your account and all data via Settings → Security → Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data from our servers
- Portability — export your data (contact us)
- Objection — object to how we use your data

7. Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all your data (invoices, sales, customers, expenses) is permanently deleted immediately. We do not keep backups of deleted accounts.
8. Children
Recsal is a business tool intended for adults aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Recsal after changes means you accept the updated policy.

Short version: Use Recsal honestly for your legitimate business. Pay your subscription. Don't abuse the service. We'll keep the platform running reliably for you.
1. The Service
Recsal provides an online platform for business management including invoice creation, sales tracking, customer management, expense tracking, and a WhatsApp bot interface ("the Service"). The Service is operated by Recsal.
2. Account Registration
- You must provide accurate business information when signing up
- You are responsible for keeping your password secure
- One account per business. You may not share your account with others
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Recsal
3. Free Trial
- New accounts receive a 7-day free trial with full access to all features including the WhatsApp bot
- No credit card is required for the trial
- After 7 days, access is limited unless you subscribe
- We reserve the right to modify trial terms at any time
4. Subscription and Payment
- The subscription fee is ₦3,000 per month
- Payments are processed by Paystack. By subscribing you agree to Paystack's terms
- Subscriptions auto-renew monthly unless cancelled
- You can cancel at any time from Settings → Security. Access continues until the end of the billing period
- We do not offer refunds for partial months
- We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice by email
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Recsal to:
- Create fraudulent invoices or records
- Violate any Nigerian or international law
- Attempt to hack, overload, or disrupt the service
- Resell or white-label the service without written permission
- Use the WhatsApp bot to send spam or unsolicited messages
- Impersonate another business or person
6. Your Data
- You own all the business data you create on Recsal (invoices, customers, sales, expenses)
- You grant us a limited licence to store and process your data solely to provide the Service
- We do not sell or share your business data with third parties

7. Service Availability
- We aim for high availability but do not guarantee 100% uptime
- We may perform maintenance that temporarily interrupts the service — we will notify you where possible
- We are not liable for losses caused by service interruptions
8. Limitation of Liability
Recsal is a record-keeping tool. We are not responsible for:
- Business decisions made based on data in the platform
- Tax or legal compliance of your invoices or records
- Data loss resulting from your own actions (e.g. deleting your account)
- Any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the Service
Our maximum liability to you in any circumstance is the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.
9. Termination
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Security
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms
- We will give you 7 days notice before termination unless the violation is severe (fraud, illegal activity)
- On termination, all your data is permanently deleted
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before significant changes take effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the new terms.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be resolved in Nigerian courts.
